Shaheed El-Hafed (Refugee Camps), Nov 12, 2017 (SPS) - The Sahrawi issue at the level of the United Nations (UN) and the role of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) were broached by the Sahrawi President and Secretary of the Polisario Front Brahim Ghali and special envoy of UN Secretary General to Western Sahara and head of UN mission Kim Bolduc.
The meeting was the opportunity for the two sides to review the Sahrawi issue at the level of the United Nations, notably concerning the report that the new personal envoy of UN Secretary General for Western Sahara Horst Kohler must present to the Security Council concerning his first visit to the region after his appointment, in replacement to Christopher Ross, said the agency.
Horst Kohler is expected in New York on November 22 to present to the Security Council the results of his first tour to the region to relaunch UN process.
The last time the Polisario Front and Morocco had negotiations was in March 2012 in Manhasset in USA. (SPS)
