Works of 42nd EUCOCO kick off in Paris

Paris, Oct 22, 2017 (SPS) - The 42nd European Coordinating Conference of Support to the Sahrawi people (EUCOCO 2017) kicked off Saturday, in Paris, with the participation of an important number of parliamentarians and representatives of governments from several countries, in addition to associations and committees of friendship with the Sahrawi people.
This event, which is held this year under the slogan “Self-determination of Sahrawi people, Inalienable Right,” chaired by President of the European Coordination of Committees in support of the Sahrawi people Pierre Galand, is meant to be the most important  annual event of the European solidarity movement with the Sahrawi people.
The opening session was introduced by the Mayor of Vitry, Paris, Jean Claude Kennedy who said that this conference’s objective is to emphasize “the humanitarian values and rights of the Sahrawi people.”
The opening of this conference was also marked by the speech of President of the National Council of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Khatri Adouh who underlined the Polisario Front’s efforts and the Sahrawi people’s willingness to be “recognized and respected” in their fundamental rights as “an independent and sovereign nation with a national identity.” (SPS)
