Submitted on

Sochi (Russia),Oct 18, 2017 (SPS) - Participants at the 19th World Youth Festival demanded a quick solution from the international community to the Sahrawi conflict that has been unresolved for decades.
During the third day of the Festival, dedicated to the African continent, where subjects related to sustainable development, education, colonialism, etc., the participants agreed that the Saharawi issue needs an urgent solution, to put an end to the suffering of the Saharawi people, who have been suffering dispersal and war for more than four decades.
In this sense, the World Youth Festival called on Morocco to respect the Charter of the African Union, while affirming that "SADR is a founding member of the continental organization, therefore, Morocco has an obligation to respect all members ".
The participants also condemned the human rights violations committed by the Moroccan regime in the Occupied Territories of Western Sahara, as well as the continued plunder of their natural resources and the obstacles it faces to prevent a referendum on self-determination.
The third day, dedicated to Africa, featured a documentary film about the situation of human rights in the occupied part of Western Sahara and what the Saharawi civilians suffer at the hands of the Moroccan police forces. SPS
