New York, Sep 24,  2017 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Augustine P. Mahiga, hoped that Morocco's accession to the African Union, could pave the way for the resumption of negotiations between the Polisario Front and Morocco on solid bases.
Speaking at the general debate of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Augustine said that the question of the self-determination of the Saharawi people has been among the long-standing issues on the agenda of the General Assembly and the Security Council, which requires decisive action.
With Morocco's accession to the African Union, expectations are high in Africa so that negotiations on this issue on the agenda of the Security Council should be given priority. (SPS)
