Tanzanian Solidarity Committee with the Saharawi People condemns verdicts against Gdeim Izik prisoners

Dar es Salam (Tanzania), Sept 09, 2017 (SPS) - The Tanzanian Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People, has condemned in the strongest terms possible the unfair trial and harsh sentence by the Moroccan Court of Appeal to the Gdeim Izk group., which lacking concrete basis and sufficient evidence, "said the note released by the Tanzanian Committee a copy of which received by SPS.
In the same line, the communiqué criticizes the Moroccan judicial authorities for their "failure to accurately dispense justice and ignoring the claims of torture , thus which is why the Committee "demands the immediate release of political prisoners of Gdeim Izik and all prisoners of conscience imprisoned in Morocco. "
Meanwhile, the Tanzanian Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People, demands " the conduct of the free and fair referendum in the occupied territory; and further urge for the respect for human rights and the sovereign of Western Sahara over her natural.”
"We call upon the international community to sanction the Kingdom of Morocco and its accomplices" for the violations committed in occupied Western Sahara.
In the same context, the communiqué denounced the recent measures by the Moroccan authorities to forcibly transfer Gdeim Izik prisoners and disperse them to different Moroccan prisons, the statement concluded. SPS
