Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), August 17, 2017 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, sent a letter to the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, transmitting the illegality of the sentences handed down by the Moroccan occupant against the group of Gdeim Izik.
The head of state decided that the Moroccan jurisdiction has no validity over the Saharawi territory, and that the Moroccan occupant was never willing to hold a fair trial. Its aim is to punish the Saharawi who repudiate the Moroccan occupation and appeal to the application of international law and the principle of self-determination of peoples.
Besides, Brahim Gali, in his letter to the President of the European Parliament, stressed that the sentences against Gdeim Izik's group were the same as those issued by the Military Court in 2003.
Finally, the Saharawi President, after having exposed the seriousness of the situation of the violations suffered by the Saharawi civilians in the Occupied Territories, asked the President of the European legislative power to intervene to release the prisoners of Gdeim Izik and all the Saharawi prisoners in Moroccan prisons.
