President of Republic conveys condolences to Egyptian counterpart

Bir-Lehlu, May 27, 2017 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Brahim Ghali, on Saturday sent a message of condolences to the Egyptian president, Abdel-Fattah al Sisi, for the terrorist attack on a Coptic Christian bus in a village in the rural province of Minya, about 350 kilometers south of Cairo, in which about 28 people were killed and 23 others were injured.

"As a result of the cowardly attack which took place on Friday, 26 May, I would like to convey, on behalf of the people and Government of the Sahrawi Republic and my own behalf, the most heartfelt condolences, sincere sympathy and solidarity and support to the families of the victims."

The President of the Republic expressed his strongest condemnation of this cowardly attack, and stressed that such brutal practices will not affect sister Egypt's determination.

He reiterated the commitment of the Saharawi state on the basis of its international obligations and within the framework of the African Union to combat all forms of extremism and terrorism. (SPS)
