London, Jan 8, 2017 (SPS) - Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) denounced Saturday the transport, by a European ship, of fishing products from the Sahrawi territory to Europe, two weeks after the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) banning the implementation of the trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and Morocco on Western Sahara.
The non-governmental organization affirmed, in a publication on its website, that after two weeks of the decision affirming that Western Sahara’s natural resources cannot be part of the agreement between Rabat and Brussels, a European ship carried fish oil from Western Sahara waters, dispatched probably to France.
Last Thursday, the ship “Key Bey” entered Western Sahara waters, after waiting the whole day for the green light outside al-Aaiun port, the ship entered the port on Friday.
WSRW claims to know the ship in question which carried along with other ships, for years, fish oil from Western Sahara to Europe.
“Key Bey will be the first ship to defy the decision of December 21 of CJEU,” denounced WSRW which underlined that the same ship carried in September 2016 cargo from Western Sahara to Europe. (SPS)
