Bir Lahlou, Dec 5, 2016 (SPS) - The Foreign Minister of the Federal and Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Workneh Gebeyehu, reaffirmed his country's determination to strengthen its "excellent and historic" relations with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
In a letter in response to Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, Mr Workneh Gebeyehu reiterated the willingness of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia to continue its efforts for the consolidation of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples, Sahrawi and Ethiopian, at the bilateral and African Union levels.
Ethiopia, which is a historical ally of the Saharawi Republic, remains committed to its positions of principle towards the Saharawi question and the decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, within the framework of the United Nations and the African Union.
The two countries are bound by diplomatic relations at the level of the ambassadors. (SPS)
