Dakhla is preparing to host Western Sahara International Film Festival 13th edition activities

Dakhla, October 11, 2016 (SPS) - the 13th edition of International Film Festival in Western Sahara, known as FiSahara will start tomorrow in the camps of Dakhla under the theme “people under occupation, with the presence of more than 400 supporters with the Saharawi people and their just cause.
 
The aim of this worldwide festival that gathers a group of artists, film-makers and journalists of many countries from Europe, Africa and Latin America is to express solidarity with the Saharawi people, who are struggling for their right to freedom and self-determination."
 
FiSahara is cultural space of solidarity with the Saharawi people, as well as a bridge of communication, in addition to support and expand the international network of solidarity with the Saharawi people.
The Festival is also a platform to raise awareness of the situation of the forgotten Saharawi refugees, exiled from their native land Western Sahara for over four decades by an illegal occupation by Morocco.
It is expected that a number of international figures will take part in 2016 FiSahara, several documentary and educational films to be screened and workshops to be opened.
Several short and long films and documentaries, made by both Saharawi and foreign filmmakers, will be screened at the week-long festival. (SPS)
