Death of Sahrawi Child following explosion of cluster bomb in Mheriz area

Chahid El Hafed, October 05, 2016 (SPS) - Death of the child Sumiya Mahmoud Najem, and injured of two children, one of them seriously wounded following explosion  of cluster bomb  in Boukhzama area in Mheriz , liberated Territories, according to statement issued Wednesday by the Office of coordination of Sahrawi Mine Action (SMACO).
 
In this context, the Office denounced constantly Moroccan occupation claimed the lives of Sahrawis through its wall racist which contains more than 07 million mines, in addition to the wide spread of the remnants of war, especially cluster bombs.
 
The statement appealed the United Nations and international organizations working in the field of mine action to exert pressure on the Moroccan occupation authorities to clean mines existing along the apartheid wall, and to sign the international conventions to ban landmines and prevent the use of internationally banned cluster bombs.
 
The statement urged all citizens to move away from the banned and suspicious presence of mines and explosive remnants of war and to inform the Sahrawi local authorities about suspicious objects.
 
"Western Sahara is a territory contaminated today by millions of mines planted by Morocco since its invasion in 1975 and especially along the wall of shame," it should be recalled.SPS
