AU Summit: Minute's silence in memory of late Sahrawi president Mohamed Abdelaziz

Kigali, July 18, 2016 (SPS) - African Union heads of State and Government have observed a minute's silence in the memory of late Sahrawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz, on Sunday during the 27th ordinary session of AU Summit in Kigali, Rwanda.

During the official opening session of the AU Summit, Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno, the incumbent AU President, invited the African leaders to observe a minute's silence in the memory of "our late brother," the Sahrawi president, Mohamed Abdelaziz.

Mohamed Abdelaziz passed away on 31 may at the age of 68 after a long illeness. (SPS)
