President of Republic congratulates his Zimbabwean counterpart on Independence Day

Bir-Lehlou, April 20, 2016 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, sent Tuesday a congratulatory message to H.E. Mr Robert G. Mugabe, the president of the Republic of Zimbabwe, on the 36th Anniversary of the Independence of this sisterly country.
“On behalf of the people and government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, I would like to extend to your Excellency and the brotherly people of the Republic of Zimbabwe our most sincere congratulations on the 36‘ anniversary of the independence of your sisterly country,” said the president of the republic.
“The independence of your country in 1980, following a long heroic struggle against colonial rule, showed beyond doubt that however long the days of colonialism might be the will of the struggling peoples will eventually prevail. Since its independence, the Republic of Zimbabwe has made enormous strides in various domains, and we are confident that the Zimbabwean people will continue their steady march, under your wise leadership, towards the attainment of more development, progress and prosperity.”
“I avail myself o this opportunity to express our profound appreciation for the principled position shown by the Republic of Zimbabwe, under your direction and leadership, in continental and international forums in support of the struggle of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence.”
“I would also like to renew to your Excellency and Dear Brother our strong resolve to further strengthen and diversify the strong bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation existing between our two brotherly nations and to boost them to the highest possible level in the common interests of our peoples and the peoples of our continent,” he added.
