Colombian Senate organises International Seminar "Western Sahara: last colony in Africa"

Bogotá, 19 March 2016 (SPS) – The Colombian Senate will organise the International Seminar "Western Sahara: last colony in Africa" on March 30, in the Hall of this Constitution (National Capitol), in the presence of Senator Luis Fernando Velasco, President of the Senate.

Among the participant in the event as presenters will be Mr Khatri Aduh, president of the Saharawi Parliament, Mr Omar Mansur, Minister Saharawi responsible for relations with Latin America, Mrs. Suelma Beiruk, vice president of the Pan African Parliament, Dr. Francesco Bastagli former envoy and coordinator of the UN mission for the referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Carlos Ruiz Miguel, Spanish constitutionalist who is one of the most renowned scholars on the Maghreb.

The Senate of approved the International Seminar by the proposition No. 61 adopted unanimously at the plenary session of the Senate on 16 December 2015. (SPS)
