SPLA carries out new attacks against Moroccan occupation forces in Mahbes

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 13 March 2022 (SPS) - The Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out new attacks against the positions of the soldiers of the Moroccan occupation army in the sector of Mahbes, according to the military communiqué No. 481 of the National Ministry of Defense.
Advanced units of SPLA targeted, Saturday, the entrenchments of the Moroccan forces in the regions Rous Shidimia and Wadi Um-Argaba in the Mhabes sector, resulting in several human and material losses.

ISACOM calls for ban on sale of surveillance software to Morocco

Security Council called to accelerate process to allow Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

Johannesburg, 12 March 2022 (SPS) - South Africa and Mozambique urged Friday the United Nations Security Council to accelerate the process to allow the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.
Included since 1966 in the list of non-self-governing territories, and therefore eligible for the application of UN General Assembly resolution 1514 on the granting of independence to colonized countries and peoples, Western Sahara is the last colony in Africa, occupied since 1975 by Morocco.

Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), 10, March 2022 (SPS) – The units of the Saharawi People Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out new attacks against the Moroccan occupation forces positioned in the Laagad region, in Mahbes.
According to War Report No. 479 issued by the Ministry of National Defense, units of our army carried out concentrated bombardments against enemy forces in the Laagad region, in the Mahbes sector.

South Africa asks UN to send a mission to investigate the human rights situation in Western Sahara

Dili, (Timor-Leste), 8 March 2022 (SPS) - The Commission of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste for accompanying the Saharawi People to exercise freely their right to self-determination and independence was officially kicked off Tuesday in Timor-Leste’s Parliament.
The Solidarity Commission with the Saharawi people is composed of all the political parties represented in Timor-Leste parliament.

Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), 7 March 2022 (SPS) -  The units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out intensive and violent attacks targeting the Moroccan occupation forces' entrenchment in the Mahbas, Hawza and Farsiya sectors, according to military communiqué No. 478 issued by the National Ministry of Defense.
The communiqué highlighted that advanced detachments of SPLA focused their bombardments on the Moroccan occupation forces' entrenchments in the regions of Um-Lagta and Laagad in the Mahbas sector.

Shahid Al Hafed, 6 March 2022 (SPS) -  Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Botswana, Mr. Malanin Lakhal, affirmed Sunday in a statement to the Sahara Press Service (APS), that the accreditation by Angola and Botswana of their first ambassadors to the Sahrawi Republic is an explicit rejection of the attempts of the Moroccan occupation regime to impose a colonial fait accompli in Western Sahara.

U.S. Congress calls on Biden not to conclude any arms agreement with Morocco

Washington, 5 March 2022 (SPS) - Members of the US Congress have called on President Joe Biden not to conclude any arms agreement with Morocco amid fears about the use of these weapons against the Saharawi people.
In a recent letter to President Biden, eleven members of the U.S. Congress expressed "concern" about U.S. policy in Western Sahara, and about the agreements on arms sales to the Kingdom of Morocco, concluded between Washington and Rabat.

Geneva, 03, March 2022 (SPS) - Namibia has called on the international community to work to guarantee the Palestinian and Sahrawi peoples the right to self-determination and independence.
"The Republic of Namibia does not accept that any people be deprived of their right to self-determination, and that is why it continues to call for those peoples to snatch that right, especially those who are subject to illegitimate occupation," Namibian Justice Minister Yvonne Dausab told the 49th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), 03, March 2022 (SPS) – The Saharawi Popular Liberation Army (ELPS) yesterday attacked several targets of the occupation forces in the Mahbes and Atweizegui sectors.
According to War Report No. 474 issued by the Ministry of National Defense, advanced units of our army bombarded enemy positions in the Gasbat Achuhada and Gararat Al-Arabi regions, in the Atweizegui sector, while other detachments devastated the forces entrenched enemy in the regions of Amheibas At-tarab, Aagad Aragan and Laaran, in Mahbes.

President of the Republic inaugurates a regional hospital in the wilaya of Bojador

Wilaya de Bojador, 02, March 2022 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brhim Gali, inaugurated a regional hospital in the wilaya of Bojador, Saharawi Refugee Camps.
The inauguration of this hospital, built thanks to the collaboration of various humanitarian agencies, was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic, Mr. Bucharaya Hamudi Beyún, the Minister of Public Health, Mrs. Jira Bulahi, as well as members of the Regional Council and Wilaya medical staff.

Saharawi diplomat expresses Saharawi people desire that his State be admitted as a UN member

Sydney (Australia), 02, March 2022 (SPS) - The Representative of the Frente POLISARIO in Australia, Mr. Mohamed Fadel Kamal, expressed the desire of the Saharawi people that his State be admitted as a member of the United Nations.
Speaking to the Australian radio antenna CR3, the Saharawi diplomat said that the participation of the Saharawi Republic in the recently concluded Summit of the EU-African Union reaffirms the unquestionable reality and international recognition of the Saharawi State.
