Sahrawi army continues attacks against Moroccan occupation positions

Bir Lehlou (Liberated Territories), 30 November 2020 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) continued their targeted attacks against positions of the Moroccan occupation army along the wall of shame, for the eighteenth consecutive day, a statement from the Defense Ministry said on Monday.
The Defense Ministry underlined, in its press release No. 18 that "the forward units of the Liberation Army bombed sites in the Smara sector twice on Monday, and targeted the Ross Sbti area in the Mahbes region".

International community must “decolonize Western Sahara to “ensure stability” in region

Algiers, 30 November 2020 (SPS) -The international community, led by the United Nations (UN), “must decolonize” Western Sahara by organizing a free and legal self-determination referendum, in accordance with the international law, in order to “ensure peace and stability” in the region, said Monday Chairman of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) Bouzid Lazhari.

Hundreds of demonstrators in Paris denouncing Moroccan aggression in El Guerguerat

Paris, 30 November 2020 (SPS) - Hundreds of demonstrators gathered Saturday at “The Place de la République” in Paris to denounce the Moroccan aggression on civilian Sahrawi people in El Guerguerat and called on the United Nations to take action to oblige Morocco to comply with the international law.
The demonstrators, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against the Moroccan aggression and expressed their solidarity and support to the Sahrawi liberation army in El Guerguerat, in the south-west of Western Sahara.

“Morocco's occupation of Western Sahara has always been illegitimate. We recognise Western Sahara as belonging to the Saharawi people and the Polisario Front as the legitimate representatives of Saharawi people and express solidarity with them in their David and Goliath struggle.

Demonstration in Paris to demand Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

Paris, 29 November 2020 (SPS) - Hundreds of demonstrators gathered Saturday at La Place de la République in Paris to denounce the Moroccan repression against Sahrawi people and demand an emergency meeting of the Security Council to accelerate the organization of the referendum for self-determination in occupied Western Sahara.
The gathering took place at the call of the Collective of Associations of the Sahrawi Community in France and the Platform for Solidarity with the People of Western Sahara, Mohamed Sidati told APS.

SADR Government warns against Morocco's "expansionist designs

Solidarity with Sahrawi people: Algerian Journalists’ Association created in Algiers

Algiers, 28 November 2020 (SPS) - The Solidarity National Association of Algerian Journalists with Sahrawi people’s struggle for independence was created Wednesday in Algiers.
Operated under the name of "Network of Algerian journalists in solidarity with the Sahrawi people," the association aims to fight against media blackout imposed by Morocco on the situation in Western Sahara, particularly after the resumption of armed actions last November 13 because of the aggressions by the Moroccan occupation army.

Algiers, 28 November 2020 (SPS) - Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, affirmed on Wednesday that "the Moroccan expansion hindered the project of the Maghreb Arab Union (AMU) and not the Sahrawi cause as claimed by the Moroccan regime," adding that the Sahrawi Republic’s annexation will be a destructive factor in the region and in Africa as a whole.

SADR partakes in African Internet Governance Forum 2020

Shaheed Al-Hafed, 26 November 2020 (SPS) - Saharawi Republic (SADR) on Wednesday participated in the ninth meeting of the African Internet Governance Forum, held virtually on 25-27 November 2020.
Organized by the AU Commission, the meeting brought together experts representing member states as well as international organizations and bodies concerned with this issue.
The conference aims to discuss digital inclusion, particularly in relation to building community networks, digital transformation, cybersecurity and digital cooperation.

UN confirms continuation of military clashes in Western Sahara

New York (United States), Nov 25TH, 2020 (SPS) -Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the United Nations Secretary General confirmed on Tuesday the continuation of hostilities in Western Sahara, calling for the elimination of all obstacles to the resumption of the political process.
"We also continue to receive reports of sporadic gunfire, and this along the northern and eastern parts of the Moroccan sand wall," he told a press briefing, in the moment when Morocco continues to downplay the scale of clashes in El Guerguarat, southwest of Western Sahara.

Australian Greens expresses its concern over Moroccan military operation in Western Sahara

Australia, Nov 25th, (SPS) – The Australian Greens has profoundly expressed its concern over reports that the Moroccan government has launched a military operation in a United Nations-patrolled buffer strip in Western Sahara, urging the UN to broker a renewed cease-fire as soon as possible.
The Australian Greens condemned the violence and breakdown in the UN-backed ceasefire in Western Sahara, adding that any acts of aggression by the Moroccan government are unacceptable.
