Coronavirus: 01 new case in last 48 hours

Chahid El Hafed, August 05, 2020 (SPS) – One (01) new case of coronavirus (Covid-19), has been recorded in the last 48 hours in Saharwi Refugee Camps, Spokesperson for the Scientific Committee in charge of monitoring the coronavirus pandemic evolution, Dr Mohamed Salem Chej.
The number of confirmed cases hit 05 inhabitants 03 patients recovered, said Spokesperson at a press briefing on the evolution of the Covid 19.
Besides, 01 patient is currently in care, said Dr Mohamed Salem.SPS

New Zealand urged to stop illegal importation of Sahrawi phosphates

Wellington, 3 August 2020 (SPS) - Representative of the Polisario Front in Australia and New Zealand, Kamal Fadel, urged New Zealand to stop imports of Saharawi phosphates, saying that this illegal trade only "prolongs" the Moroccan occupation and thus "the repression of the Sahrawi people."
"It's time for you to stop what you're doing. They cannot continue to promote the occupation," the Sahrawi diplomat said on Sunday during a programme on New Zealand's national television, "Channel 3", on the illegal exploitation of Sahrawi phosphate.

Sahrawi civilian prisoner starts warning hunger strike in Morocco

Kenitra (Morocco), 3 August 2020 (SPS) - Sahrawi civil prisoner, Abdelah Wali Ahmed Ramadan Al-Khafouni, decided to enter a warning hunger strike in a protest against the difficult detention conditions, according to the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners.

President of Sahrawi Red Crescent calls for rapid delivery of aids to Sahrawi refugees

Shaheed El Hafed, 1 August 2020 (SPS) - President of the Sahrawi Red Crescent Bouhbini Yahia on Thursday appealed to donor countries to accelerate the delivery of aid to Sahrawi refugees in the camps, faced with decreasing food stocks and the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The response to the appeal launched by international organizations, in coordination with the Sahrawi Red Crescent, has so far brought only 20% of the needs, and therefore, we are very far from meeting all the demand," Bouhbini told APS.
