President of Republic takes part at state funeral of former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi

Nairobi (Kenya), Febr 12, 2020 (SPS) - The president of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Gali, has attended the state funeral honors of the former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi conveying  to the people and Government of Kenya the maximum condolences of the Saharawi people and Government.
The state funeral of former President Daniel Arap Moi, who died last February 4, was held Tuesday at Nyayo Stadium, in a mass event attended by African heads of state and high-ranking personalities of the continent.

Development Ministry begins agricultural season

Chahid El Hafed, February 10, 2020 (SPS) - the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Bulahi Sid, held a coordination meeting to develop a plan for launching the process of preparing for the agricultural season across all national farms.
The meeting witnessed the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry, the Director of Agriculture and a number of agricultural engineers.

Faki reiterates AU’s responsibility to resolve conflict in Western Sahara

Addis Ababa, 9 February 2020 (SPS) - Chairman of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki said Sunday, in Addis Ababa, that the issue of Western Sahara and the crisis in Libya “extend the responsibilities” of the Pan-African organization in the settlement of these two conflicts.
To global challenges, “I would like to add two specific issues that extend our responsibilities to new ardent commitments, namely the issue of Western Sahara and that of the fate of Libya,” said Moussa Faki at the opening of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.

Smara to host festivities commemorating 44th anniversary of SADR’s proclamation

Shaheed El-Hafed, 9 February 2020 (SPS) - The province of Smara will host this year the festivities commemorating the 44th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), said Saturday head of the Polisario Front’s National Secretariat Khatri Adouh.
“The commemorative activities of this major event will start on February 15th at the local and regional levels,” said Adouh in a press conference.

Pan African Club-Uganda calls for changing venue of Futsal African Cup of Nations from occupied El-Aaiun

260 tonnes of humanitarian aid shipped to Sahrawi refugee camps via El Oued

El-Oued (Algeria), 1 January 2020 (SPS) - 260 tonnes of humanitarian aid has been sent from El-Oued to the camps of Sahrawi refugees, the Algerian-Western Sahara Friendship Group told APS.
The caravan, which left Wednesday evening, carries various aid, including fruit, vegetables, foodstuffs and blankets, on board a dozen heavy-duty trucks, president of the Group, Abdallah Ghourabi, told APS.
