Brahim Ghali to Guterres: UN must do more to restore the confidence of our people in the UN peace process in Western Sahara

Bir Lehlou (Saharawi Republic) 30 December 2019 (SPS)- The President of the Saharawi Republic and Secretary General of Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, addressed a letter on the 28th of December to the Secretary General of the UN, Mr. António Guterres, stressing that the UN needs to do more to restore the confidence of our people in the UN peace process in Western Sahara.

Comoros’ government decision: Unacceptable attack on Sahrawi Republic

Moroni (Comoros), 29 December 2019 (SPS) - Head of Foreign Affairs Commission of the Polisario Front M'hamed Kheddad affirmed that the decision of Comoros’ government to open a consulate in the occupied city of al-Aaiun is an “unacceptable attack” on the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
“We have sent correspondences to the United Nation (UN) and the African Union (AU) to condemn this unacceptable attack from the Comoros,” said Kheddad in an interview granted to the paper “Massiwa Comoros.”

Large Algerian delegation at 15th Congress of Polisario Front

Tfariti (Liberated Territories), 22 December 2019 (SPS) - A large Algerian delegation is taking part in the 15th Congress of the Polisario Front, being held from 19 to 23 December in the liberated territories, Tfariti.
The Algerian-Western Saharan Friendship Group, which also represents the People's National Assembly (Lower House), is accompanied by parliamentarians from different political parties, in addition to senators.

Algiers, 22 December 2019 (SPS) – Algeria on Thursday dubbed “extremely grave” the decision of the Comoros government to open a consular representation in Al Aauin, in the occupied Western Sahara. For the foreign affairs ministry, this measure represents a violation of international law.
"Algeria has learned with great surprise of the decision of the Comoros government to open a consular representation in Al Aauin, in the occupied Western Sahara, "the statement said.

Algerian President reiterates Algeria's firm position on Sahrawi issue, stresses it’s decolonization issue

Algiers, 19 December 2019 (SPS) - After the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a speech in which he reaffirmed Algeria's steadfast stance on the issue of Western Sahara, considering it an issue of decolonization in the hands of the United Nations and the African Union.
"The issue of Western Sahara is a matter of decolonization, in the hands of the United Nations and the African Union, and it should remain away from disturbing bilateral relations between brothers,"  said Mr. Tebboune.
