Wilaya of Smara, Nov 20, 2018 (SPS) - The second edition of the National Short Film Festival "Festival of the Dunes" was inaugurated on Monday in the wilaya of Samara under the slogan "Cinema as a means of struggle" where eight short films by Saharawi filmmakers will compete.

Tifariti University rector takes part at Latin American Social Sciences 8rd Conference

President Brahim Gali meets several African heads of state and government in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Nov 20, 2018 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, met, on the sidelines of the eleventh extraordinary summit of the African Union, with numerous heads of state and government and as well as with the heads of the African Commission.
The President of the Republic met with his counterparts from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia, and also with the heads of delegations from Nigeria, Seychelles and Angola.

Massive demonstration in Madrid in support of Western Sahara people

Madrid (Spain), November 19, 2018 (SPS) - Thousands of people gathered Saturday afternoon in Madrid in support for the decolonization and independence of Western Sahara, calling on the Spanish government to revoke "the Declaration of Madrid signed in 1975, which allowed the Moroccan invasion of the Saharawi territories."
"Illegal Pact" and "Spain responsible, Morocco guilty" were among the slogans chanted during the demonstration, staged on the sidelines of the 43rd European Conference for Support and Solidarity with Saharawi People (EUCOCO 2018).

Western Sahara conflict: Polisario Front to participate in Geneva talks

Madrid (Spain), November 19, 2018 (SPS) – The Polisario Front will go to the coming negotiations with Morocco, scheduled in early December in Geneva. The Front will participate in those talks in "good faith and with good willingness to relaunch Western Sahara conflict settlement process and on the basis of the international law, Sahrawi officials said in Madrid, on the sidelines of the 43rd European Conference for Support and Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO 2018).

Thousands of demonstrators in Madrid call on Spanish government to hold on its historic responsibilities towards Saharawi people

Madrid, November 18, 2018 (SPS) - Tens of thousands of Sahrawis and members of the Solidarity Movement demonstrated today in Madrid to condemn the Madrid tripartite agreement and demand that the Spanish state take on its historic responsibilities.
The demonstrators marched through the streets of the Spanish capital, chanting slogans in support of the Saharawi people's struggle, holding Sahrawi national flags and banners demanding the Spanish state to shoulder its responsibilities towards its former colony.

Madrid, November 18, 2018 (SPS) - The European Coordinating Conference of Support to the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) kicked off Friday in Madrid, in Spain, with the participation of about 400 personalities coming from the five continents, including parliamentarians and government’s representatives.
During the opening ceremony, the international delegations participating in this major solidarity event expressed their determination to continue supporting the decolonization process in Western Sahara, Africa’s last colony.

43 years of infamous Madrid Accords signing

Madrid , Nov 14, 2018 (SPS) -This Wednesday marks 43 years of the signing of the infamous Madrid Accords among Spain, Morocco and Mauritania of Ould Dadah. Under the agreement, the Saharawi people was divided into those who remained under occupation and those who fled under bombardment of the Moroccan aviation to find a safe refuge in the Saharawi refugee camps in Algeria.
