Tenerife (Spain), August 09, 2017 (SPS) -The Saharawi community in the Canary Islands has called on Spanish government to "punish" those responsible for the plundering of Western Sahara's natural resources, including sand from the port of the occupied town of Aaiun,
"Saharawi community in Tenerife held Sunday a sit-in at El Camison Beach (in the south of the Canaries), where a Canary company unloaded quantities of sand brought, recently, from the port of the occupied town of Aaiun for a new levelling of the beach,"  

Bahr Lahlou,  August 08, 2017 (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Committee for Human Rights has strongly condemned the brutal intervention of the Moroccan repressive apparatuses against the peaceful sit-in of the illustrious Father Dida Al-Yazid Family, voicing "its unconditional solidarity with the Dida family  fight for the right of the Sahrawi people Self-determination and independence ".

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, August  08, 2017 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO, through its Delegation to the Canaries Islands, has denounced the situation of the Saharawi civilian population in the Occupied Zones of Western Sahara by Morocco, following the judgment handed down by a Moroccan court against the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik.

Moscow (Russia), August 7, 2017 (SPS) - The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party has condemned the sentences against the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik Group, considering that they were contrary to international law and legitimacy.

Tenerife (Canary Islands), August 7, 2017 (SPS) - Members of the Sahrawi community in Tenerife, Canary Islands, organized a protest on the Camison beach in the south of the island, where a Canary company accumulated sand dunes recently brought from the port of El-Aaiun, pending its use in resettling the beach.

El-Aaiun (Occupied Territories), August 5, 2017 (SPS) - The Moroccan forces intervened violently against Sahrawi protestors in Al-Mustaqbal neighborhood in the occupied city of El-Aaiun, resulting in a number of serious injuries among the protesters, according to a Sahrawi human rights source.

Algiers,  August 5, 2017 (SPS) - Saharawi Ambassador to Algeria, Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun, has confirmed that the number of participants in the Summer University of Sahrawi executives in Boumerdes in Algeria exceeds 400, which will allow the training of a significant number of executives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi state. 

Bir Lahlu (SADR), August 04, 2017 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Gali on Friday called on the Pan-African Parliament to take the necessary measures to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of Sahrawi political prisoners from the Gdeim Izik Group and all Sahrawi political prisoners unlawfully detained in Moroccan prisons.
In a letter to the President of the Pan-African Parliament, SE. Roger Nkodo Dang, the Saharawi president informed him of the latest progress on the Saharawi cause.

Rome (Italy), August 03, 2017 (SPS) - The Saharawi children of the 'Holiday in Peace' program who spend their holidays in Italy were welcomed by the Italian parliament on Wednesday.
The reception ceremony which took place in the Chamber and was chaired by the Vice-President of the Parliament, Marina Seregni, was attended by several legislators and media.

Occupied Aaiun, August 03, 2017 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Association for the Supervision and Protection of the natural resources  has stated in a statement that the Moroccan occupying authorities continue their plunder Saharawi natural resources, in a clear contradiction with the international conventions governing the matter.

Chahid El Hafed, August 03, 2017 (SPS) - The Union of Sahrawi Journalists and Writers (UPES) has granted honorary member status to Peruvian journalist and writer, Ricardo Sánchez Sierra, in recognition of his efforts to disseminate and to support the struggle of the Saharawi people for their self-determination and independence.
