Boujdour, Dec 5, 2016 (SPS) - The activist and representative of the Palestinian solidarity committee with the Saharawi people, Dr. Moussa Mohamed El-Khazendar, affirmed that the two Saharawi and Palestinian peoples undergo the policy of repression and injustice, during a reception by the Wali of Boujdour, Fatma Balla, in the presence of the former secretary general of the union of Saharawi workers, Mohamed Chaik Lehbib.

Polisario Front urges EU to cease funding for projects taking place in Western Sahara

Brussels, Dec 5, 2016 (SPS) – Polisario Front Representative to the European Union Mohamed Sidati has urged the European Union to “take immediate steps to rectify Morocco’s use of EU funding in contravention of EU law, by immediately ceasing all funding for projects taking place in Western Sahara.”

Lisbon, Dec 5, 2016 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation led by the representative of the Polisario Front in Portugal Ahmed Fal Emhamed participated in the 20th Congress of the Portuguese Communist Party, held December 2-4, in the city of Almada, Portugal.
The Congress was attended by delegates from more than 70 countries representing their political parties and organizations.

The meeting dealt with the bilateral relations between SADR and Kenya and the ways and means of developing them.

President of Republic sends message of condolence to his Brazilian counterpart on plane crash near Medellin

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), Dec 4, 2016 (SPS) The President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Gali, sent a message of condolence to the President of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Michel Temer, following the plane crash near Medellin, Colombia, causing the death of 71 people including most players of Brazilian national team.
The Saharawi president expressed his sincere condolences and solidarity with the families and friends of the victims on behalf of the Sahrawi Government and people. (SPS)

Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs on working visit to Saharawi Republic

Shaheed El-Hafed, Dec. 4, 2016 (SPS) - Kenyan Foreign Affairs Minister Amina Mohamed arrived Sunday in the Sahrawi refugee camps on an official working visit to the Sahrawi Republic.
The Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs was greeted at Tindouf airport by Minister of Water Resources and Environment, Ibrahim Mokhtar, and she is expected to be received in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Sahrawi refugee camps, by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed-Salem Ould Salek, and members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and the SADR government.

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), Dec. 2, 2016 (SPS) – The investigating judge of the court of appeal in the occupied city of El Aaiun referred Tuesday young Sahrawi Saeed Ayoub, 18, to the local prison in the city, after he was arrested on Sunday along with other young Sahrawi Mohamed Bouamoud, who was released hours after the arbitrary arrest.

Union of Socialist Women organizes conference on Saharawi issue in Stockholm

Stockholm, Dec. 2, 2016 (SPS) - Swedish Socialist Women's Union organised Thursday a conference on the issue of Western Sahara to raise public awareness about the fight of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence.
The conference addressed the sacrifices and the leading role played by the Sahrawi women in the struggle for freedom and emancipation.
The representative of the Polisario Front in Sweden, Alien Habib Kentawi, and the Director of Olof Palem School in the Wilaya of El Aaiun, Mumna Lebsir, attended the conference.

Right to self-determination, a fundamental human right, says CEAS-Sahara

Madrid, Dec. 2, 2016 (SPS) - The right to self-determination is a "fundamental human right," said the Spanish Coordination of Associations Supporting Sahrawi People (CEAS-Sahara) in a statement to mark the Human Rights Day, observed every year on 10 December.
"Spain, which will hold the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council in December, will work for the organization of a referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara," the CEAS-Sahara said in the statement.
