Polisario representative to UN meets with Security Council President to address the Guergarat situation

New York, September 08, 2016 (SPS) - The Polisario Front representative to the UN, Ahmed Boukhari was received Wednesday in New York by the President of the Security Council of the UN, Mr. Gerard Van Boheman with whom he discussed the situation in the area of El Guergarat.
 
During the meeting, Mr. Bukhari informed the President of the Security Council on the situation in the El Guergarat after the violation by Morocco to the ceasefire agreement agreed by the Polisario Front and Morocco, under the auspices of Nations Nation.

Children and Women Sahrawi Observatory condemns Moroccan occupation kidnapping of Sahrawi minor

Occupied Aaiun, September 08, 2016 (SPS) - the Sahrawi Observatory for Children and Women has strongly condemned the kidnapping and arrest of Sahrawi minor Jihad Abu Abed inside his family's home after besieged it from all sides on Tuesday by Moroccan police.
Observatory said in a statement that the police headed Jihad to an unknown destination without informing his family about his place and condition’s arrest, which constitutes a flagrant violation of regional and international conventions that protect the rights of the child.

Zimbabwe renews its support to people’s right to freedom and independence

Western Sahara: UN voices concerns over security situation

NewYork, September 08, 2016 (SPS)  - United Nations expressed concerns about the situation prevailing in the region of Guerguerat, in the south of occupied Western Sahara, where Morocco's occupation army units face, from a distance of 120 metres, Polisario Front positions, at the risk of confrontation, the UN said Wednesday.

School year 2016/17 starts in all Saharawi provinces

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), September  06, 2016 (SPS) - The academic year 2016-2017 has  started Tuesday  morning in all schools in the provinces of the Saharawi Republic (SADR).

During this week, the ministry of education organized local conferences in all provinces to prepare for the start of this year’s school year.
These conferences highlighted the best ways to achieve the academic performance, in collaboration between family and school. (SPS)

Moroccan escalation in Alguergarat: EUCOCO denounces "new aggressions, serious violations"

Brussels,  September 06, 2016 (SPS) - The Conference for Support and Solidarity with Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) denounced Monday "the new aggressions" against the Sahrawi people, dubbing Moroccan military incursions in the area of Alguergarat, located northwest of Western Sahara, "serious violations" of the ceasefire agreement inked on 6 September 1991 under the auspices of the United Nations.

Boujdour (refugee camps), September 5, 2016 (SPS) The Wilaya of Boujdour on Sunday hosted a workshop on twinning and its role in solidarity with the Saharawi people organized by the Ministry of Cooperation.

EU voices concern over Moroccan escalation in Alguergarat

Brussels, September , 01 2016 (SPS)  - The European Union (EU) expressed Thursday its concern over the tense situation in the zone of Alguergarat in the south-west of Western Sahara, underlining that EU supports the United Nations’ efforts to reach a fair, lasting and mutually acceptable solution, enabling the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.
The recent tensions in the narrow buffer zone in the south-west of Western Sahara are worrying, the spokesperson of the European Commission told APS.
