CJEU Advocate General opinion contains “many positive points”

Brussels, Sept 30, 2016 (SPS) - The European Coordination Conference for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) welcomed the findings of the advocate general of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) concerning the issue  opposing the EU Council to the Polisario Front on the EU-Morocco agreement for the liberalization of trade for agricultural products and fishing, underlining that the opinion of Wathelet contains “many positive points.”

Occupied Aaiun (Capital of occupied Western Sahara) Sept 28, 2016 (SPS) - A Sahrawi citizen passed away following the explosion of an anti-tank mine while was aboard his car in Skikima (occupied Smara), the media source from Occupied Territories announced Wednesday.
A Sahrawi citizen passed away Monday in a hospital (occupied Al Ayun) following the explosion of anti-tank mine in Skikima, said the same source.

Danish activists Demonstrate against Danish Companies transporting illegal Phosphate from occupied Western Sahara

Copenhagen (Denmark) Sept  28, 2016 (SPS) - A demonstration was organized Tuesday by group of activists from Afrika Kontakt Organisation in front of the headquarters of the Danish Ship-owners’ Association in Copenhagen.

Intifada activists in Occupied Smara denounce the organization of Moroccan elections in occupied territories of Western Sahara

Occupied Smara, Sept,  28, 2016 (SPS) - the activists of the intifada organized a march in the streets of Occupied city of Smara to condemn the holding of Moroccan elections in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, reported  Saharawi human rights source.
According to the same source, the participants in the march raised the national flags and chanted slogans demanding the departure of the Moroccan occupation, denouncing the elections in the occupied territories of Western Sahara. SPS

UNSG hails Algerian support to negotiations process in Western Sahara

Auserd masses organize a protest against German company Siemens plundering of Saharawi natural resources

Auserd (Saharawi refugee camps), Sept 28, 2016 (SPS) - The national campaign against the looting of natural resources of Western Sahara organized Tuesday in the wilaya of Auserd, a popular protest to condemn the looting of Saharawi people’s wealth by the German company "Siemens"
 
The protest was organized with the collaboration of the Sahrawi Student Union (UESARIO) along with civil society representatives asked the German company to stop the plundering of Saharawi natural resources in the occupied territories.
 

Tanzanian FM calls for application of UN resolutions to self-determination of the Saharawi people

New York, Sept 27, 2016 (SPS) - The Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Augustine Phillip Mahiga asked, on Monday, the implementation of UN resolutions of decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa.
Mr. Mahiga, in his speech at the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly has called for "more attention" of the UN in its efforts to resolve the problems of Palestine and Western Sahara.

President of Republic inaugurates secondary school in Bojador

Bojador (Saharawi refugee camps), Sept 27, 2016 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Gali inaugurated, Tuesday in the wilaya of Bojador, secondary school bearing the name of  martyr Sidi M'Hamed Jalil, the inauguration ceremony was attended by members of the National Secretariat, government and staff of the ministry of education.
 

Belize Republic expresses its solidarity with Saharawi people just struggle

New York,  Sept 27, 2016 (SPS) - the Republic of Belize expressed its full solidarity with the just struggle of the Saharawi people for self-determination.
The Foreign Minister of Belize, Mr. Wilfred Elrington said on Monday, during his speech at 71th session of the United Nations General Assembly that his country will maintain its commitment to defending the right of peoples to self-determination and independence.

Western Sahara: Absence of clear, firm position of Security Council, bodes ill

Algiers, Sept 27, 2016 (SPS) - The Sahrawi President and Secretary General of Polisario Front, Brahim Gali said that the "absence of a clear and firm position" of the United Nations Security Council in the face of Morocco's violation of its decisions, would result in "dangerous developments" that would threaten peace, security and stability in the whole region.

EU to support any political solution allowing Sahrawi people's self-determination

Cuba reaffirms support for Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

New York, September 24, 2016 (SPS) - Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reiterated firm support of his country for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, in accordance with all relevant UN resolutions.
The question of Western Sahara requires an effort to guarantee the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions and respect for their legitimate right to live in peace in their territory, said Rodriguez in a speech before the 71st Session of the UN General assembly in New York.
