Madrid, June 30, 2012 (SPS) - The next edition of the International Art Encounters in the Western Sahara Liberated Territories, known as ARTifariti, presented Friday at Sofía’s Queen Museum in Madrid, in the presence of Spanish intellectuals and interested in culture and art.

On his speech, President of Seville Association and founder of ARTifariti Mr. Fernando Beretta underlined that the event is “an encounter for creative ideas and a channel for the defense of human rights and self-determination in the occupied territories,” considering it “tireless effort for peace and peoples’ freedom.”

The attendance watched a video about the past cultural encounters, which made bonds and relations between intellectuals and artists at the global level for the benefit of aspirations of the Saharawi people.

They also indicated that Tifariti, Saharawi liberated territory, represents a vast battle field and a wide cultural base.

The ceremony was attended by a number of culture and art’s men, in addition to some sympathizers with the Saharawi cause.

The next edition will celebrated from October 20 to November 3, 2012 in the Saharawi refugee camps and liberated territories of Western Sahara, according to the organizers. (SPS)
