Cantabria (Spain) January 19, 2015 (SPS) - the National Secretariat, representative of the Polisario Front, in Spain, Mr. Bashraya Hamoudi Baiun, started, on Friday, a working visit to the province of Cantabria, Spain, during which he discussed with the president of the regional government Mr. Ignacio Diego, a set of issues relating to the movement of solidarity in Cantabria with the Saharawi people.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Saharawi Diplomat, accompanied with the regional representative in province of Cantabria Ms. Ammaina Chikhato, met with the Mayor of the municipality of Santander and members of the municipal council.
The Saharawi Diplomat briefed the officials of Santander on the latest developments of the national cause, and Moroccan obstruction to the peaceful settlement plan.
The Saharawi delegation explained to his hosts the systematic violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara by Moroccan occupying forces, and the continuous blockade on the occupied territories.
The solidarity movement with the Saharawi people in the province of Cantabria organized a public debate in the social center in Santander, in the presence of representatives of political parties, trade unions and Saharawi community in the region, in order to express full support to the legal struggle of the Saharawi people.
