Head of MINURSO holds talks with Sahrawi authorities

Wilaya of Smara (Refugee Camps), February 7, 2015 (SPS) – The UN Secretary General Special Representative for Western Sahara, Head of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Ms. Kim Bolduc, held official talks Saturday evening in the Wilaya of Smara, the Sahrawi refugee camps, with members of the Polisario Front and Sahrawi government.

 

The Sahrawi party included the Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, the Responsible of the Political Organisation, Salem Lebsir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, the Minister of Defence, Mohamed Lamine Elbuhali, the Speaker of the National Council, Khatri Adduh, the Secretary General of Sahrawi Women, Fatma Elmehdi, and the Coordinator with the MINURSO, Mhamed Khadad.

 

The visit of Ms. Bolduc comes after Morocco had refused to let her take over her functions in August at the head of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), it should be recalled. (SPS)
