Abidjanm , July 08, 2021 (SPS) -The UN's action for the settlement of the Western Sahara conflict is "weakened" by the interests of some permanent members of the Security Council, so much that it makes it lose its credibility with the Sahrawi people, said Wednesday Sahrawi Foreign Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, to the Ivorian newspaper Dernière Heure.
In an interview with the daily, Ould Salek said that "the action of the UN is weakened by the interests of some of the permanent members of the Security Council."
"Instead of making peace, the UN's action has helped the return of war. This is very bad," he added.
The head of Sahrawi diplomacy said, in this regard, that "the UN has lost its credibility with the Sahrawi people who have placed their trust in it and agreed to establish peace and democracy in their country. SPS
