Submitted on

Ait Melloul Local Prison 2 (Morocco), July 7, 2021 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner Mohamed Hassanna Ahmed Salem Bureal, started on Tuesday a warning hunger strike for forty-eight hours in protest at the lack of response to his demands, which include the improvement of his conditions of detention, the right to medical care and access to the minimum conditions of accommodation, taking into account that he suffers of malnutrition and is without blankets or mattress to sleep.
Political prisoner Mohamed Hassanna Bureal, who has entered his fifth warning hunger strike since December 2020, continues to be deprived of his right to telephone communication with his family, which he was only allowed to do for five minutes twice a week, and is subject to daily mistreatment, harassment and discrimination by the prison administration, which does not cease to retaliate against him due to his political positions and support for the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence.
