Brussels, Apr 06,  2021 (SPS) - Algeria's recent call for a resumption of negotiations between the Frente POLISARIO and Morocco is part of the implementation of the resolutions of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) which had launched a call for direct negotiations leading to a political settlement of the Saharawi question, said on Monday, Sahrawi Minister Delegate to Europe and EU, Oubi Bouchraya El Bachir.
The Saharawi official said in a statement to the Algerian channel "El Yaoum TV" posted on Youtube that "this call comes within the framework of the recent decision of the PSC of the AU".
The latest decision of the PSC called at the end of its summit on March 9 for "the imperative resumption of negotiations to reach a settlement taking into account the fourth point of the Constitutive Act of the AU which calls for respect for borders inherited after independence ", he recalled.SPS
