Shahed Al-Hafed, 22 July 2019 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Diaspora has condemned Moroccan forces' brutal intervention against Sahrawi civilians in the occupied territories, leaving a young woman dead and several others injured among Sahrawis who were peacefully celebrating Algeria's victory in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a statement published, the ministry expressed its "strongest condemnation" of Morocco's brutal repression against Sahrawi civilians in the occupied Sahrawi territories.
A 23-year old woman was killed and nearly one hundred others were injured in Moroccan forces' violent repression on Friday.
The Sahrawi ministry urged the UN to "assume its responsibilities in protecting Sahrawi defenceless civilians from Morocco's repression," and "take immediate action for the release of all Sahrawi political detainees held in Moroccan prisons," said the statement. (SPS)
