Second round table on 21-22 March in Geneva

Submitted on

New York, March 10, 2019 (SPS) - UN Special Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler will invite the parties to the conflict and neighboring countries for a new round table in Geneva, scheduled for 21-22 March, said Saturday sources close to the issue.
Like the previous round table, held in December in the same Swiss city, the second meeting will also last two days.
The parties haven’t received yet the invitations confirming officially the date and place of this meeting, according to the sources.
Kohler organized in December 2018 a first round table after six years of deadlock in negotiations on the status to Western Sahara.
The last time where the Polisario Front and Morocco sat at the same negotiating table dates back to March 2012 in Manhasset (near New York).
Since then, the peace process is at standstill. (SPS)
