Saharawi President received by his Cuban counterpart, Díaz-Canel (Photos PL)

Havana (Cuba), December 5, 2018 (SPS) - The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali was received on Tuesday afternoon (local time in Cuba) by the President of the Councils of States and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez
During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders discussed the bonds of brotherhood that characterize bilateral relations and the main aspects of the existing cooperation between both nations as well as other issues of interest on the international agenda.
The Cuban President reiterated Cuba's solidarity with the SADR and full support for the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people.
The president was accompanied by a delegation composed of Mansur Omar, Delegate Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Latin America, Malainin Etkana, Saharawi Ambassador in Cuba and Abdati Breika, Councilor of the Presidency.
On the Cuban side, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla participated; the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz; the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz; and the ambassador Clara Pulido Escandell.
Prior to the reception, Ghali paid tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, in the memorial that bears the name of the independence leader.
After placing a wreath, the visitor toured the monument, located in the central Plaza de la Revolution, next to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rogelio Sierra and other Cuban and Saharawi officials.
Brahim Gali told the press to feel proud of being in Cuba and highlighted the relations of brotherhood between both peoples and highlighted the figure of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.SPS
