Complaints against French companies: "We have warned a lot, now we take action, says Polisario

Gonfreville-L'Orcher (France), October 20, 2018 (SPS) - The Polisario Front said Saturday in Gonfreville-L'Orcher, near the Havre, France, that he will henceforth take legal actions against the French groups operating on the territory of Western Sahara.
The Frente Polisario lodged a complaint with the public prosecutor in Paris Thursday (division specialized for war crimes) against six French groups namely, BNP Paribas SA, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole, AXA Assurances, Transavia and UCPA.
"Those companies are implicated in Morocco's transfer of its population to Western Sahara territory, which is under military colonial system," the representative of the Polisario Front in France, Oubi Bachir Bouchraya, told APS on the sideline of a conference being held in Gonfreville-L'Orcher on the natural resources of Western Sahara.
"It is a serious responsibility, we have warned a lot, now we take action."
The complaints, he noted, are based on the "colonization crime" provided for in Article 461-26 of the French Penal Code and the "economic discrimination" provided for in Articles 225-1 and 225-2 of the Code.
According to the decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in 2016 and 2018, "it is quite clear that Morocco has no sovereignty on Western Sahara territory and EU-Morocco agreements are not applicable (to the territory)."
The authorizations Morocco have granted to European companies for economic activities in the territory of Western Sahara "have no legal basis and this illegality incurs their responsibility," said the representative of the Polisario Front. (SPS)
