Brussels, Jan 31, 2018 (SPS) - The Sahrawi minister delegate for Europe, member of the National Secretariat Mohamed Sidati called to “compensate the Sahrawi people following the exploitation of its natural wealth without its agreement or the consulting of its sole legitimate representative, the Polisario Front”.
The minister for Europe and the lawyer of the Polisario Front before European courts Gilles Devers highlighted, in a press briefing jointly held Tuesday, the Polisario Front’s point of view regarding the cases handled by European courts, particularly the trade agreement and the European Union-Morocco fisheries agreement which includes Western Sahara and its territorial waters.
The Polisario Front demands 240 million Euros per year as compensation for the products exported from Western Sahara without its agreement.
Sidati said that “the Sahrawi people do not represent a threat to the interests of the parties concerned by the fishing sector; however, Europeans must obtain the agreement of the sole legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people.” (SPS)
