Balearic Islands Friendship Association with Saharawi People organizes a rally in support of Sahrawi political prisoners and disappeared

Palma de Mallorca, Dec 26, 2017 (SPS) - The Association of Friends of the Saharawi People in the Balearic Islands organized a rally yesterday in support of the Saharawi political prisoners and disappeared with the participation of dozens of solidarity citizens and representatives of different Local institutions
The rally demanded the release of all Saharawi political prisoners and disappeared, among them the group of 15 young Sahrawi kidnapped and disappeared on December 25, 2005 in the occupied city of El Aaiún.
In the press release distributed by the Associació d'Amics del Poble Sahrauí of the Balearic Islands, noting that currently there are 59 Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons. Among them, 24 human rights defenders detained in November 2010 in the violent dismantling of the Dignity Camp (Gdeim Izik) by the Moroccan police and military forces.
On July 19, 19 were sentenced to life imprisonment, 30 years and 24 years in prison to this day they are still imprisoned in subhuman conditions.
"For the 500 Sahrawis who have disappeared since 1975, for all the political prisoners and for all the people who are still willing to sacrifice their lives to demand their right to self-determination, on this special day, we want to light a candle to show our support for them their families and have them present on such a marked date, "the note emphasizes.
In the same act, the poet and writer Biel Mesquida participated, reciting some poems in support of the Saharawi people. SPS
