Chahid El Hafed-, Nov 10, 2017 (SPS) - The settlement of the conflict in Western Sahara starts with “the recovery by the Sahrawi people of their full sovereignty over all their territories, in accordance with the charter and decision of the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU), enshrining the right of colonized peoples and countries to independence and the respect of the borders inherited from the independence,” affirmed the national secretariat of the Frente POLISARIO, insisting on the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to independence and self-determination.
In a statement released following the meeting of the permanent bureau, held under the chairmanship of its General Secretary, Sahrawi President Brahim Gali, the National Secretariat of the Frente POLISARIO called on the United Nations and international community, particularly, to assume their responsibilities and act for the release of the political prisoners of Gdeim Izik group and all the Sahrawi political detainees in the Moroccan jails, hailing the solidarity of the spirits in love of justice and freedom, amongst lawyers and independent international observers.
The meeting of the permanent bureau of the Frente POLISARIO took place on Wednesday, in anticipation of the 6th ordinary session of the national secretariat, scheduled for Saturday.
The bureau denounced the stubbornness of Morocco’s King in his last speech, underlining that the Moroccan occupier “resorts to escalation and headlong rush when facing crises at the local or external levels.”
It hailed the courage of Gdeim Izik’s detainees, arbitrarily sentenced to severe penalties by the Moroccan courts. .SPS
