Antonio Guterres receives a Frente POLISARIO’s representative to UN

New York, October 05, 2017 (SPS) – the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, met today the representative of the Frente POLISARIO to the United Nations, Mr. Bukhari Ahmed, at the request of the Frente POLISARIO.
During the meeting, the POLISARIO’s representative to the United Nations, Bukhari Ahmed, handed over to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres a message from the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Frente POLISARIO Mr. Brahim Gali.
In previous letters, Brahim Gali called on UNSG to intervene urgently to put an end to the Moroccan occupation authorities' continued repression of peaceful demonstrations in the occupied territories demanding the right of Saharawi people to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination and to release Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan occupation prisons.
POLISARIO,s SG has also shouldered UN and the international community fully responsible for the consequences of the catastrophic situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, especially the dire situation of political prisoners.
The Frente POLISARIO expressed its full readiness to cooperate with the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General, Mr. Horst Koehler, in his mission to advance and find a solution that guarantees the Saharawi people right to self-determination through a free, fair and fair referendum.  SPS
