Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), August 19, 2017 (SPS) - The Polisario Front expressed Thursday its satisfaction following the appointment Wednesday, by the Secretary General of the United Nations, of the former German president Horst Kohler as his personal envoy for Western Sahara said the Sahrawi ministry of Information in a communiqué.
The Polisario Front expressed “its availability to bring all its contribution and its help for the success of the mission of the personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Western Sahara and help him carry out the mission entrusted to him to put an end to cthe olonization of Western Sahara on the basis of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination which is inalienable,” said the communiqué, of which APS got a copy.
The Polisario Front “calls on the Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations to facilitate the mission of the Personal Envoy and to put an end to the paralysis and the suffering which have been going on for many years,” added the source.
The choice of Horst Kohler, 74, was announced in the beginning of June by the United Nations. (SPS)
