Las Palmas de Gran Canaria reiterate its traditional solidarity with the Saharawi people

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, August 01, 2017  (SPS) - The Mayor of the City Council of Santa Lucia de Tirajana (Las Palmas), Dunia Esther González Vega expressed, on Monday at an event welcoming the Sahrawi children, the full and Traditional solidarity with the just struggle of the Saharawi people in both the humanitarian and political spheres.
 
In her speech during an act of welcome to the small ambassadors of Saharawi people, expressing the entire traditional solidarity and commitment to support the just struggle of the Saharawi people both in humanitarian and political domain.
 
The mayor condemned the persistence of Morocco in continuing to occupy part of the territory of Western Sahara, as well as its admiration for the work of the Frente POLISARIO to carry out the dissemination of the Saharawi cause in different communities, also thanked the solidarity of the host families.
 
The Mayor of the City Council of Santa Lucia de Tirajana was accompanied by the Councilor of Solidarity Pino Sánchez and with the presence of the host families of the children of the Holidays in Peace Program.
 
It is noteworthy that the City of Santa Lucia de Tirajana is the first municipality in the history of twinning to twin with a Saharawi Daira, in this case with the Güera in wilaya of Auserd according to the press release issued by the Saharawi Delegation in Canary Islands. SPS
