Madrid, May 21, 2016 (SPS) - The association of friends with Sahrawi people of Toledo Mora (Spain) has sent 22 tonnes of foodstuffs (sugar, rice and flour) to the Sahrawi refugee camps.
“The humanitarian aid, made up mainly of 13,700 kg of sugar and 7,535 kg of rice, was transported by an articulated lorry to the port of Alicante to be sent, afterwards, to the Port of Oran,” said the association Saturday in a communiqué.
“The articulated lorry was given to the Sahrawi Red Crescent to use it in the distribution of the humanitarian aid in the camps,” said the association.
Spanish civil society’s solidarity has been very strong over the past few months where several associations of friends with the Sahrawi people sent to the Sahrawi refugee camps important humanitarian aid made up of foodstuffs, medical equipment and school supplies as well as other means of transport.
