Spain supports UN endeavours to resolve conflict in Western Sahara

Madrid, 31 January 2022 (SPS) - The Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, reiterated his country's "full" support for the efforts of the United Nations to find a solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, expressing readiness to adhere to the United Nations settlement plan in this regard.

Swedish MP questions her government on human rights situation in Western Sahara

Stockholm, 31 January 2022 (SPS) - Swedish parliamentarian Lotta Johnsson Fornave questioned the Swedish Foreign Minister on the grave human rights situation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara in light of the worsening Moroccan violations on activists and journalists.
A member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense in Parliament, Ms. Johnsson questioned whether the foreign minister would summon the Moroccan ambassador to Sweden to protest the violations against Sultana Khaya and other Sahrawi civilians, activists and journalists.

Morocco “dangerously fuels” escalation of tensions in region

Algiers, 30 January 2022 (SPS) - Morocco blindly perseveres in its headlong rush and adventurism by "dangerously fueling" the escalation of tensions in the region, stated the Algerian Special Envoy in charge of the Western Sahara issue and Maghreb Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Amar Belani.

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 30 January 2022 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) have targeted sites of the Moroccan occupation soldiers in the sectors of Hawza, Farsia and Awsard, indicated a military communiqué No. 443 of the National Ministry of Defense.
The communiqué indicated that "advanced SPLA detachments targeted sites of the occupation soldiers in the region of Sahb Shedida in the sector of Farsia.

Moroccan occupation authorities prevent Sahrawi human rights activist Aminatou Haidar from travelling to Spain

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), 30 January 2022 (SPS) -  The Moroccan occupation authorities at the occupied Airport of El Aaiun banned Thursday the President of the Sahrawi Body against Moroccan Occupation (ISACOM), Aminatou Haidar, from travelling to Spain, on the grounds that it did not have a Moroccan vaccination passport, refusing to recognize the Spanish-European vaccination passport that she holds.

Shahid El Hafed, 29 January 2022 (SPS) - Sahrawi Prime Minister Bouchraya Hamoudi Bayoun said Thursday that strengthening the combat capabilities of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) and deploying the available capacities are among the priorities of the government's program for 2022.
The Sahrawi official's remarks were made during the review of the government's program for the year 2022 before the plenary session of the Sahrawi National Assembly, chaired by Speaker of the National Assembly, Hama Salama, in the presence of members of both bodies.

SPLA attack occupation forces positions in Sabjat Tanuchad and Um Dagan regions

Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), Jan 26, 2022 (SPS) – The units of the Saharawi Popular Liberation Army (SPLA) have Wednesday attacked the positions of the Moroccan occupation forces in the Mahbes sector.
According to War Report No. 440 of the Ministry of National Defense, forward detachments launched intense and concentrated bombardments against enemy soldiers in the Sabjat Tanuchad region of Mahbes.
The War Report adds that other detachments concentrated their bombardments against the enemy forces in the Um Dagan region, in the Bagari sector.SPS

Sahrawi army: new attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupier

Bir lahlou, Jan 25, 2022 (SPS) - Units of the Saharawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) have carried out new attacks against the forces of the Moroccan occupier in the Mahbas sector, indicated the Saharawi Ministry of Defense in its military communiqué N 438 issued on Monday.
According to its statement, "advanced detachments of the Sahrawi army bombarded the positions of Moroccan army soldiers in the Mahbas sector, targeting the regions of Lakaad, Sabkha Tnouchad and Akrara El Fersic".

SPLA carries out new attacks on positions of Moroccan occupation army

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 22 January 2022 (SPS) -  The Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) launched new "intensive" attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupation army, at various points in the Mahbas sector, indicated military communiqué No. 436 of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the statement, units of the Sahrawi army carried out intensive attacks against the Moroccan occupation forces in the areas of Ross Sebti, krarat Fersik, Oued Dhamran, in the Mahbas sector.
