US personalities call for investigation into Moroccan violations in Western Sahara

Washington, 31 July 2021 (SPS) - Former diplomats and human rights activists in the United States has called on the head of US diplomacy, Antony Blinken, to open an investigation into human rights violations perpetrated by Morocco in occupied Western Sahara.
In a letter addressed to the US Secretary of State on Thursday, the signatories called on the State Department to denounce the Moroccan aggression against the Sahrawi population and to immediately open an investigation into the ongoing human rights violations committed by Morocco.

According to War Report No. 260 published this Thursday by the Ministry of National Defense, advanced units of our army concentrated their attacks against the Fadrat Abruk and Ahreichat Dirit regions, in the Hauza sector.

Brahim Gali calls on UN to address "alarming" human rights situation in Western Sahara

Bir Lahlou, July, 29 2021 (SPS) - Sahrawi President Brahim Gali called, Wednesday, on UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres and members of the Security Council to address the "alarming" situation in the occupied Sahrawi territories, saying that the inaction of the United Nations and their silence has allowed the Moroccan occupier to continue its barbaric practices.

Maputo (Mozambique), July 29, 2021 (SPS) - The Republic of Mozambique renewed its position of full support for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.
In a reply letter sent by the Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, to his Saharawi counterpart, Brahim Gali, who had sent him a letter of congratulations on the 46th anniversary of Mozambique's independence, Mr. Nyusi renewed his will to "Continue to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation that unite the two sister countries and peoples."

Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), July 28, 2021 (SPS) - The units of the Saharawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) attacked various positioning points of the Moroccan occupation forces in the regions of Um Rakba, Gararat Lahadid, Um Lagti and Asteilat Bugrein.
According to War Report No. 259 made public today by the Ministry of National Defense, advanced units of our army concentrated their bombings on the Um Rakba and Um Lagti regions, in the Mahbes sector.

Health Minister reaffirms the need to get vaccinated to prevent coronavirus

Chahid El-Hafed, July 28, 2021 (SPS) - The Minister of Public Health, Ms. Jira Bulahi Abad, reaffirmed t Wednesday “the need to vaccinate as many of the population as possible to prevent the spread of of the COVID-19 pandemic ”.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the government meeting, Jira Bulahi considered that "vaccination and respect for prevention measures are the best ways to face this pandemic and achieve herd immunity."

El Aaiún (Saharawi Republic), July 28, 2021 (SPS) - The League for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners reported that it has received data on the humiliating and inhumane conditions of  the Saharawi political prisoner Hassanna Ahmed Salem Bureal, who is in the local prison of Ait Melloul 1, in Morocco, he was also subject to medical negligence after being denied transfer to hospital for treatment and necessary medication.

The Saharawi president expressed "on his behalf and on behalf of the Saharawi government and people, his sincere greetings for the advent of one more anniversary of the heroic deed of the Assault on the Moncada Barracks."

100 new cases of Coronavirus in Sahrawi refugee camps

Shahid Al-Hafed, 26 July 2021 (SPS) - 100 new cases of Coronavirus infections have been recorded in the Sahrawi refugee camps, the Ministry of Public Health announced today, Monday.
The spokesperson of the National Committee for the Prevention of Coronavirus, Dr. Mohamad Salem Sheikh, indicated that 100 new cases of the virus infections were recorded within past 72 hours, which is the highest outcome since the outbreak of the pandemic.

SPLA shells Moroccan occupation forces' positions in Mahbes sector

Bir Lahlou, 25 July 2021 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out new attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupation army entrenched in two areas of the Mehbes sector, said Sunday a communiqué of the Sahrawi Ministry of Defence.
"SPLA units concentrated their bombardments against the entrenchments of the Moroccan occupation forces in the areas of Akouira Ould Blal and Laaked in the Mahbes sector," the communiqué said.

Sahrawi government condemns involvement of Morocco in Pegasus espionage

Bir Lahlou, 24 July 2021 (SPS) -The Sahrawi Government on Friday condemned the involvement of Morocco in the Pegasus espionage case, saying that this is a "criminal act" contrary to all charters and treaties governing international relations, reports the Sahrawi press agency (SPS).
"The Sahrawi government has learnt of the involvement of the Kingdom of Morocco in the biggest case of espionage against governments, political circles, civil society organizations, media and ordinary people," said the Sahrawi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

London, 18 July 2021 (SPS) - Morocco is to dig 2,400 square meters of soil in occupied Western Sahara, as part of a mineral exploration, warned the International Observatory Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW), recalling that Western Sahara is under foreign illegal occupation by Morocco, and the latter has no right under international law to carry out such exploration work.
