AREN denounces illegal activities of Indian Larsen & Toubro in occupied Western Sahara

El-Aaiun (Occupied Territories), 17 May 2020 (SPS) - The Association for the Monitoring of Resources and the Protection of the Environment in Western Sahara (AREN) has denounced the illegal activities carried out by Indian Larsen & Toubro, along with other foreign companies, in the occupied parts of Western Sahara by Morocco.

Berlin, May 12, 2020 (SPS) Leader of the German Left, Katja Kipping, argued that Europe can contribute to a solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, without bias or support for the Moroccan regime, stressing that the time has come "to break definitively with the policy of support for despotic regimes which present themselves as border guards and use it to blackmail Europe".

Frente POLISARIO 47th establishment anniversary: CNASPS salutes great legal victories

Algiers, May 12, 2020 (SPS) - The Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Saharawi People (CNASPS) hailed the great legal victories gained by the Frente POLISARIO since its establishment on May 10, 1973.
In a statement on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the creation of the Frente POLISARIO, CNASPS stressed that "the decision to establish POLISARIO by a group of Sahrawi mujahedeen was the trigger for the Sahrawi Revolution for freedom and the independence of Western Sahara against Spanish colonialism ".

Covid-19: Algeria puts field hospital at disposal of Sahrawi people

Shaheed Al-Hafed, 9 May 2020 (SPS) - The Algerian authorities have placed a field hospital at the disposal of the Sahrawi people in the Sahrawi refugee camps, as part of support and solidarity and strengthening of ties the brotherly Algerian and Sahrawi peoples, especially in light of the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). 
The Military field hospital is equipped with all necessary medical facilities, including includes a special section for the follow-up on patients of Coronavirus "Covid 19".

EU donates €5.3mn to Sahrawi refugees

Algiers, 9 May 2020 (SPS) - The European Union (EU) has recently donated €5.3 million to the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme (WFP) to meet the food needs of thousands of Sahrawi refugees, fight hunger and ensure their food security.

Sahrawi refugee camps, May 6, 2020 (SPS) - The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomed a contribution of CHF 1.8 million (US$ 1.9 million) from the Government of Switzerland that will help cover the basic food needs of thousands of Sahrawi refugee families and support WFP’s school feeding programme.

Sahrawi refugees receive solidarity aid from Algerian Red Crescent

Shaheed Al Hafed (Sahrawi refugee camps), 2 May 2020 (SPS)  - A total of 154 tons of solidarity aid was delivered Friday by the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) to the Sahrawi refugees on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The operation was chaired by Minister of Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Kawther Krikou, accompanied by CRA’s head Saida Benhabiles.  
The caravan set off from the headquarters of the province of Tindouf towards the warehouses of the Sahrawi Red Crescent (CRS).

Humanitarian aid initiative is a strong message of support for the just Saharawi cause and right to self-determination, says Algerian Minister of Solidarity

Algiers, 2 May 2020 (SPS) - The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) sent on Thursday a cargo comprising 154 tonnes of food and more than 200,000 units of pharmaceutical products to the Sahrawi refugee camps.
From Boufarik air base, the solidarity operation has been supervised by Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women Condition Kaouthar Kirikou, Chairwoman of the CRA Saïda Benhabiles and Sahrawi ambassador Abdelkader Taleb Omar.
