Havana (Cuba), March 03, 2020 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, has received Monday the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Malainin Etkana, to whom he expressed the satisfaction for the relations that unite the two peoples and government.
"We note with satisfaction the strengthening of the bilateral ties and the historical relations of friendship that unite us," said Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla after receiving the Saharawi ambassador in Havana.

Chahid El Hafed, March 03, 2020 (SPS) - Units of the Saharawi People's Liberation Army thwarted on Sunday an attempt to smuggle an estimated 725 kg of cannabis hashish from the Moroccan-occupied territories of Western Sahara, near the Moroccan military Wall of shame in the Auserd region, according to a source from the Ministry of Defense.
"The operation took place thanks to patrols carried out by units of the Saharawi People's Liberation Army based near the wall to protect the liberated Saharawi territories and restore security," the source added.

UN Human Rights Council urged to act on Morocco's grave violations

Geneva, 2 March 2020 (SPS) - An appeal to the UN Human Rights Council was launched, at a meeting in Geneva organized by the "Geneva Group in Support of Western Sahara" (GGSSO), to send commissions of inquiry into the occupied territories of Western Sahara and to act upon the serious violations committed by the Moroccan occupation regime against the Sahrawi people.

Geneva, 1 March 2020 (SPS) - Sahrawi activist Aminatou Haidar called on the UN Human Rights Commission to send inquiry commissions to the occupied areas of Western Sahara and respond to the grave violations committed by the Moroccan occupation against the Sahrawi civilian population.
Attending the 43rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, the 2019 alternative Nobel Prize winner expressed her deep "concern over the sufferings of Western Sahara people who have been militarily occupied by Morocco since 1975".
