Death of Sahrawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz: Polisario Front declares 40-day mourning

Shahid Elhafed,  May 31, 2016 (SPS) -  The Polisario Front on Tuesday has declared forty days of national mourning following the death of the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, said a Front's communiqué.

Algiers,  May 31, 2016 (SPS) - President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has began the Council of the Ministers meeting, which he chaired Tuesday in Algiers, with a minute's silence and by reading Al-Fatiha (The Opening, the first Chapter of the Holy Qur'an), in the memory of the late Sahrawi President and Secretary General of Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz. The President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz has passed away

Bir Lahlou,  May 31, 2016 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016 following a long illness, according to a statement  issued  today by the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front.

The National Secretariat expressed its condolences to the Sahrawi people and announced 40 days of national mourning.

Algiers, May 31, 2016 (SPS) - Caravan of solidarity with the Saharawi child left Monday the Algerian capital Algiers towards the Saharawi refugee camps.

Algerian caravan started its travel from the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the presence of the Ambassador of SADR in Algeria, Mr. Bachraya Bayun and officials of Ministry of Algerian youth.
