Western Sahara: France supports search for "just, lasting and mutually agreed" solution

Paris, November 29, 2016 (SPS) - France supports the search for a "just, lasting and mutually agreed" solution to Western Sahara conflict, reaffirmed on Tuesday the French foreign ministry spokesperson.
"The position of France about this issue is known and constant. France supports the search for a just, lasting and mutually agreed solution, under the aegis of the United Nations and in compliance with the Security Council resolutions," spokesman Romain Nadal told an online news conference.

Call to dispatch international observers to attend the re-trial of Gdeim Izik detainees

Occupied Aaiun, November 29, 2016 (SPS) - the Committee of  the families of Saharawi political prisoners called all international human rights organizations to send international observers to attend the re-trial of Saharawi political prisoners, Gdeim Izik group.
The Commission has called all organizations to ensure a fair trial and to respect the fundamental right of Saharawi political prisoners, in its statement.

Lesotho reiterates support to Western Sahara, says Mosisili

Algiers, Nov. 28, 2016 (SPS) - Lesotho's Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili reiterated Monday in Algiers "his country's unflinching solidarity and support" to Western Sahara.
In a statement to the press following an audience with President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Mosisili expressed the solidarity of his country "with the Sahrawi people and its unflinching support to Western Sahara as a member of the African Union."
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika received, Monday in Algiers, Lesotho's Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili, who is on a working visit to Algeria.

Spanish associations send over 4.4 tons of humanitarian aid to Sahrawi refugees

Madrid, Nov. 28, 2016 (SPS) - Over 4.4 tons of humanitarian aid, mainly made up of foodstuffs were sent Monday to the Sahrawi refugee camps by Spanish associations friends with the Sahrawi people, said the president of Burgos city, Maite Gimenez.
This aid is the result of a common work by the associations of Palencia, Avila, Valladollid and Burgos, added Gimenez.

Fourth Afro-Arab Summit in Malabo reaffirmed support for just causes (Minister of State)

Beirut, Nov. 28, 2016 (SPS) Minister of State and Adviser to the Presidency, Bashir Mustafa Sayed, affirmed that the fourth afro-Arab Summit in Malabo was an opportunity to reaffirm the support for the just causes, including the Sahrawi and Palestinian issues.
The Minister of State in an interview with the Lebanese channel "Al-Thabat" stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco is experiencing a real crisis due to the global rejection of injustice and the failure of all its attempts to legitimize its illegal occupation of Western Sahara.

National Council celebrates 41th anniversary of its foundation

Shaheed El-Hafed, Nov 28, 2016 (SPS) The National Council (Parliament) celebrated Monday the 41th anniversary of its foundation, indicated a statement of the Saharawi legislative body.
"The Saharawi parliamentary experience has been able to make the voice of the Saharawi people in the struggle for independence heard throughout the world by means of establishment of strong relations with local and international parliaments and foundation of parliamentary friendship groups in different continents," indicated the same source.

Meeting of UGSARIO 8th Congress Preparatory Committee

Shaheed El Hafed, 27 Nov 2016 (SPS) The Preparatory Committee of the 8th Congress of the Union of Saharawi Workers (UGSARIO) held Sunday a meeting chaired by Hamma Salama, in charge  of the Polisario Front Political Organization.
The meeting discussed preparations of the holding of the 8th UGSARIO Congress.
The 8th Congress of UGSARIO, bearing the name of martyr Ibrahim Saika, will be held from December 3- 5, in the wilaya of Boujdour under the theme "mobilization of labour force to impose total sovereignty." (SPS)

Saharawi coordinator with MINURSO begins working visit in Sweden

Stockholm, Nov. 27, 2016 (SPS) Sahrawi Coordinator with MINURSO, M'hamed Khaded, began Friday a working visit for a few days in Sweden, accompanied by Representative of the Polisario Front in Sweden, Alien Habib Kentawi.
Mr. Khaded held several meetings with Swedish movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people, actors of civil society,  parliamentarians and the Socialist Democratic Party (the ruling party).

Bir Lehlou, Nov 26, 2016 (SPS) The Presidency of the Republic declared Saturday a national mourning for three days at the level of the refugee camps, the liberated territories of the SADR and the embassies and representations of the Polisario Front, following the death of president and revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.
The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, on Saturday sent a message of condolences to his Cuban counterpart, H.E. Raul Castro, following the death of president and revolutionary leaderFidel Castro.

Cuba's revolutionary leader Fidel Castro passes away

Havana, Saturday, 26 November 2016 (SPS) - Cuba's revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, 90, passed away Friday evening in Havana, announced his brother Raul, who succeeded him in 2006.
"The Commander in Chief of the Cuban revolution passed away today at 10:29 p.m.," announced Raul Castro on the national television.
Fidel Castro "will be buried Saturday," stated the same official.
"In accordance with the wish expressed by Comrade Fidel, his remains will be incinerated in the early hours of Saturday," said the Cuban president. (SPS)

SADR hails African Union's support, solidarity

Bir Lahlou, November 25, 2016 (SPS) -  Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) greeted Wednesday African Union (AU) countries' support and solidarity with Western Sahara government and people, who should enjoy their inalienable right to self-determination and independence. 
"Saharawi Government expresses to all the states and bodies of our (African) Union its deep gratitude and that of Western Sahara people for their support and solidarity with the Saharawi State," the SADR's ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
