Colombian Foreign Ministry offers condolences on passing of Sahrawi ambassador in Bogota

Bogota (Colombia), May 3, 2024 (SPS) - The Colombian Foreign Ministry has expressed its condolences to the Sahrawi people and the government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic on the passing of the Sahrawi ambassador accredited to Bogota, Mr. Amah Yehdih El Nenn, who passed away on Thursday.

In a statement, the Colombian Foreign Ministry "expressed its deep regret at the passing of the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, H.E.  Mr. Amah Yehdih El Nenn, in the city of Bogota. The Colombian government expresses its solidarity with his family and the Sahrawi government at this difficult time."

The Sahrawi Foreign Ministry announced Thursday the passing of Ambassador Amah Yahdih Nan in Bogota due to an incurable disease, offering its condolences to the family of the deceased and to the Sahrawi people, and to the comrades of the deceased.

The late Ambassador Amah Yehdih El Nenn worked in several national missions, including as a teacher, then an inspector, and also worked in several diplomatic positions, including as deputy of the Polisario Front in both Asturias and Catalonia, Colombia, and finally as ambassador to Colombia.
